KTR shares edited video to 'defame' Congress party

KTR on Tuesday quote-tweeted an edited video clip spread by the Karnataka BJP in recent days in an attempt to "defame" the Revanth Reddy government. In the video, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is heard saying that there is no money with the government to fulfil the pre-poll promises made to the public. The Congress CM was actually talking about the alleged attitude exhibited by the BJP government led by Yedyurappa and Basavaraj Bommai before the Congress won the elections in May this year.

Sharing the misleading video, KTR wrote, "No money to deliver poll promises/guarantees says Karnataka CM! Is this the future template for Telangana too after successfully hoodwinking the people in elections? Aren’t you supposed to do basic research and planning before making outlandish statements?"

Earlier, Siddaramaiah had exposed the misleading video. "Contrary to the manipulated narrative, the unaltered video clearly reflects my remarks in the assembly, holding the BJP accountable for failing to fulfill promises made in their 2018 manifesto, especially the loan waiver promise they had made. I cited the fact that Yediyurappa, in 2009, had stated that they didn't have a printing machine to print notes and lacked the funds to waive farm loans," he said.
