Telangana Congress is in full on josh mode now after coming to power in the state. The party workers and top-level leaders have found new energy with this victory. They are now slowly moving towards the parliament elections which are a few months away.
TPCC, led by Revanth Reddy has already unanimously decided to suggest Sonia Gandhi to contest from Medak constituency in the parliament elections from Telangana. They believe that Congress has gained enough public support in Telangana that Sonia could have a sure-shot victory in any of the 17 parliament segments in the state.
For now, the Malkajgiri constituency is believed to be the constituency that is favored by Congress. Revanth Reddy already won from here in the last MP election and later became the CM. TPCC believes that Sonia contesting from Telangana can boost the morale of other Congress MPs and improve their winning chances.
But Sonia Gandhi has been contesting from Rae Bareli for the last 5 terms. It would take a lot of convincing to bring her to Telangana. But Sonia could be open to this proposal as Congress has found zest in South India with wins in Karnataka and Telangana assemblies. If Sonia contests as an MP from South, it could help Congress here by boosting the party image and leading to securing MP seats.
