Following the submission of a report by the Cyberabad police on the Rohit Vemula case, Ambedkar Student Association(ASA) called for protest in the University of Hyderabad campus on Friday.
In a statement released by ASA said, “To our great shock, dismay and disappointment, the report completely absolves the then Vice-Chancellor Podile Appa Rao, BJP leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, Smriti Irani and N Ramachandra Rao and ABVP Leader Susheel Kumar of any responsibility for the murder of Rohith Vemula by replicating the exact narratives fabricated by the BJP and the ABVP.”
In 2016, the case of Rohit Vemula sent shock waves across the nation with protests breaking out at the University of Hyderabad.
