In a recent development, Nadimpally Venu Kumar, an artisan working with TSSPDCL in Mallareddipally, Nalgonda District, found himself in the Anti-Corruption Bureau's (ACB) net. Kumar was apprehended red-handed while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a complainant identified as Ravi Suryanarayana from Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad.
The bribe was given in exchange for an official favour, specifically to facilitate the provision of a single-phase domestic electricity connection to Suryanarayana's residence, as well as the installation of two poles for an agricultural bore and the laying of cables for electricity connection.
ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount from Kumar's possession during the operation. Furthermore, chemical tests conducted on Kumar's left hand, which came into contact with the bribe money, reportedly yielded positive results.
