A land dispute in Qutubullapur involving senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Minister Chamakura Malla Reddy and his son-in-law, Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajsekhar Reddy, escalated into a brawl with 10 others. The incident, which took place within the Petbasheerabad police station limits on Saturday, resulted in the detention of the former minister by authorities.
At the heart of the dispute is a 2.22-acre plot in Quthbullapur, with Malla Reddy having purchased 1.29 acres from a businessman and an additional 1.11 acres from around 10 individuals. Each of these individuals owned land ranging from 300 to 500 guntas. However, Malla Reddy purportedly laid claim to the entire 2.22-acre parcel, leading to the confrontation.
