The esteemed Telugu film director, Sagar, also known as Vidyasagar Reddy, passed away in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 70. He had been suffering from age-related health issues. Hailing from the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, he received his education in Chennai. He began his career as a director in 1983 with the film "Rakasiloya".
Throughout his illustrious career, he directed over 35 films and was most renowned for his action films featuring actors such as Bhanu Chander, Suman, Arun Pandian, Vinod, and Krishna Ghattamaneni.
Sagar's notable works include "Public Rowdy", "Daadi", "Nakshatra Poratam", "Amma Donga", "Bharatasimham", "Ammanaakodalaa", "Alumagalu", "Jagadekaveerudu", "Ramasakkanodu", "Osi Naa Maradala", "Anveshana", "Action No.1", and "Khaidi Brothers". He also held the position of president of the Telugu Directors Association on three separate occasions.
