'RRR' wins National Awards in 6 categories, Allu Arjun bags Best Actor Award

The 69th National Film Awards for the year 2021 are going to be remembered for a long time. Films submitted to the CBFC in the year 2021 were considered for awards. Therefore, although 'RRR' was released in theatres in 2022, it was considered. The magnum opus, directed by SS Rajamouli, won awards in six categories. Allu Arjun won the Best Actor Award, which is his first.

'RRR' won the awards in the below categories:

Best Film for Wholesome Entertainment
Best Action Choreography (King Solomon)
Best Background Score (won by MM Keeravani)
Best Dance Choreography (Prem Rakshit)
Best Special Effects (V Srinivas Mohan)
Best Playback Singer (Male): Won by Kaala Bhairava for 'Komuram Bheemudo'

'Pushpa' won two awards. Besides Allu Arjun, Devi Sri Prasad won the Best Music Director Award for songs.

Best Telugu Feature Film Award went to 'Uppena'. This is not a category that is in contest every year. If the jury believes that no film is worth it, this category is skipped.

Chandrabose, who this year won an Oscar Award for 'Naatu Naatu', won the Best Lyricist Award for a song in 'Kondapolam' (directed by Krish Jagarlamudi).
