The trailer for 'Skanda', starring Ram Pothineni in an action-hero role, was released on Saturday. Moments after the trailer was out at 9:09 pm, Netizens flooded the social media with memes.
Many are of the view that 'Skanda' is nothing but 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama 2'. There are typical Boyapati Sreenu-style shots throughout the trailer. Heavy action set pieces, gravity-defying fights, screaming villains, rhyming words for the sake of it... There are one too many elements that we have seen before.
Extreme violence, righteous lines, dialogues about the importance of parents, etc. seem to be there in a good measure in the film.
Produced on a lavish scale, the film has Sree Leela as the heroine. The rom-com track seems to be all about the hero showing attitude in the presence of the heroine, who will predictably fall in love with him after seeing him pulverize 20 baddies in 10 minutes.
'Skanda', also featuring Srikanth and Indraja, has music by SS Thaman. Speaking at yesterday's pre-release event, Boyapati asked the audience to watch the film with a hand across their chest.
