Boyapati Sreenu's 'Skanda', starring Ram Pothineni in the lead, hit the screens on Thursday. In a statement, producer Srinivasaa Chitturi of Srinivasaa Silver Screen has announced the Day 1 collections.
The action entertainer with a commercial flashback and many action scenes earned a share of Rs 8.62 Cr in the two Telugu States. The movie grossed Rs 18.20 Cr (worldwide). This is the biggest opening that a Ram Pothineni movie has earned. Even 'iSmart Shankar' and 'The Warriorr' couldn't make that much.
Nizam's Rs 3.23 Cr, Ceded's Rs 1.22 Cr, Vizag's Rs 1.19 Cr, East Godavari's Rs 0.59 Cr, West Godavari's Rs 0.41 Cr, Krishna's Rs 0.45 Cr, Guntur's Rs 1.04 Cr, Nellore's Rs 0.49 Cr are encouraging.
On the release date, the film's collections started increasing by evening and night shows. It appears that the 'word of mouth' is encouraging.
Starring Sree Leela, Saiee Manjrekar, Ajay Purkar and Sharath Lothitaswa in different roles, the film has Srikanth Meka in the role of a businessman. The music, by SS Thaman, has been described as loud by many. The cinematography is by Santosh D.
