Natural Star Nani's Wall Poster Cinema's latest blockbuster movie, "Court - State Vs. A Nobody," starring Priyadarshi and directed by Ram Jagadish, has received an overwhelming response. Produced by Prashanti Tipirneni and co-produced by Deepti Ganta, the film premiered to tremendous acclaim and was released worldwide on March 14th, becoming a unanimous blockbuster hit. In a press conference, actor Shivaji, who played the role of Mangapathi, shared his thoughts on the film.
Shivaji's Joy and Gratitude:
"The amazing response to 'Court' and my character Mangapathi has brought me immense joy. Thank you," said Shivaji.
Comeback and Mangapathi's Role:
"My family and children always wanted me to act again. I also wanted to, but I couldn't ask anyone," Shivaji revealed. "I met ETV Bapineedu Garu and initially discussed producing a film. However, he suggested I act, and that's how I signed up for the 90s web series. While I was doing that, I received an offer for Bigg Boss. I saw it as an opportunity to show the world who I am. I went, and the show revealed the real Shivaji to the world. The web series was also a big hit. After that, I received many offers, but most were father roles, which I rejected. Mangapathi's character in 'Court' fulfilled my 25-year-long dream. I'm very happy that Nani Garu gave me this opportunity."
Challenges and Character Selection:
"I asked the director what he saw in me to select me for this character," Shivaji shared. "He said he would write the script all day and watch me on TV at night, thinking I was perfect for the role. I feel this character was born for me. The director took inspiration from real life. All credit goes to him. He gave me the chance to prove myself. He sculpted every character like an artist."
"I always wanted to do memorable roles like those done by SV Ranga Rao Garu, Gummadi Garu, Jaggayya Garu, and Rajanala Garu. I never wanted to stick to hero roles. The characters I played in 'Jalsa,' 'Ottesesi Cheputunna,' and 'Manasunte Chalu' were also such roles."
Positive vs. Negative Roles:
"Mangapathi is my favorite," Shivaji said when asked about his preference between his positive role in 90s and the negative role in "Court." "It has natural emotions. Every family has a protective person like him. He behaves that way when such incidents happen."
"The response to Mangapathi's character has been overwhelming. Someone even wrote that I did better than Bobby Deol in 'Animal.' That made me very happy."
"I thank my children and wife. They asked me to act again. I also thank ETV Bapineedu Garu, director Jagadish, and producer Nani Garu."
Bonding with Nani:
"Nani Garu has proven himself as an actor. I have great respect for him as a producer. He encourages new talent. Wall Poster Cinema will become a banner like Super Good Films, Suresh Productions, and Usha Kiran."
"It's not easy to challenge with your own film for a film made by newcomers. It shows his belief in the film. I'm fortunate to have done this film under Nani Garu's banner."
"Deepti Garu was very supportive. She was always on the set and provided everything needed for the production."
Future Projects:
"I've heard another character like Mangapathi, called Medical Shop Murthy. They will announce it soon."
"I'm not regretful at all," Shivaji said when asked if he regretted staying away from films. "I stood for the people, for the region, and for future generations. I have no regrets. I will always be with the people."
"I'm doing a film with Laya, and another film called 'Dandora.' There will be a sequel to 90s."
