The newly-formed Congress government in Karnataka has been slammed by Netizens with Hindutva sympathies after the wife of a murdered BJP functionary was sacked from government service by the Siddaramaiah-led administration.
Praveen Kumar Nettaru, a BJP activist, was slain by PFI members in 2022. Soon, the then BJP government gave a sarkari job to Nutan Kumari, his wife. She has been doing a Group C job on a contractual basis.
Supporters of BJP are accusing the Congress government of exacting revenge on the widow to appease its vote bank. "This is not an error but a calculated move by Congress to demonstrate to Hindu activists statewide the fate that awaits if they cross the line and scare away potential volunteers," wrote Cogito I Am.
Some BJP leaders are slowly joining the campaign with the aim of ensuring that the widow is reinstated.
However, a news agency said that many contractual employees have been sacked, not just the widow.
