Bangladesh is in deep trouble. The country is struggling to finance its imports at a time when the fuel crisis has hit its economy. As is known, India's neighbour is also witnessing a shortage of forex reserves. Power cuts and other bottlenecks are eating into its economic health.
In this regard, BJP supporters are reminding PM aspirant Rahul Gandhi of what he said about Bangladesh only in 2020. In a social media post, the Congress leader suggested that Bangladesh was beating India on all fronts owing to Narendra Modi's failure to develop India. "Bangladesh is set to overtake India. This is the solid achievement of BJP's 6 years of hate-filled cultural nationalism," Rahul tweeted in 2020.
Trolling Rahul for prematurely congratulating Bangladesh and dissing India, a BJP voter wrote, "Nearly 2.5 years later, India's forex reserves are at a record high, inflation is falling, the power sector is in a good shape, so on and so forth. On the other hand, our neighbour is literally begging the IMF. What will Rahul say now?"
