President Murmu, CM KCR remembers Alluri Seetha Rama Raju. Today happens to be the 125th birth anniversary celebration of Alluri Sitaramaraju, known as Manyam Veerudu. Alluri Seetha Rama Raju fought against the British for the freedom of India. On the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu and Telangana CM KCR remembered Alluri Seetha Rama Raju and lauded their efforts.

In the 125th birth anniversary celebrations held at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, Droupadi Murmu who graced the event as the chief guest said "Alluri Seetha Rama Raju's fight against injustice, exploitation, and sacrifice at the age of 27 is a glorious chapter in India’s freedom movement." She added "Like Bhagat Singh is a symbol of self-respect and sacrifice for the whole country, Sitarama Raju will remain forever in the memory of the countrymen for his ideal of sacrificing life for national honor. Alluri Sitaramaraju fought against the British using his unique skills."

President Murmu inaugurated a 30-foot bronze statue and memorial forest dedicated to Alluri Sitaramaraju in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, from Hyderabad. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Chief Minister KCR also attended the function. CM KCR earlier paid his respects to Alluri Seetha Rama Raju. He said "Alluri's unparalleled bravery and fighting spirit against the then British colonial rule for tribal rights are indelible"
