KCR increases pressure on Jagan. It is known that the ruling BJP and the union government headed by PM Modi is planning to introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the coming monsoon session of the parliament. While BJP has the majority in the Lok Sabha, it needs the support of the smaller parties like KCR's BRS and Jagan's YSRCP to pass the bill in the Rajya Sabha. PM Modi in one or another other way is trying to get the bill passed by pressuring the smaller parties and making them vote for the bill in the Rajya Sabha.
However opposition parties Congress, Left, Mamatha Bannerjee, TN CM Stalin, NCP chief Sharad Pawar expressed their reservations about the bill. Now all eyes are on the two Telugu states and CMs Jagan and KCR. Through ED investigations, and CBI cases, by hook or crook, Modi is planning to force Jagan and KCR to vote for the UCC. KCR came out openly and issued a statement that his party BRS will oppose the bill. KCR stand will increase pressure on Jagan.
It is known that Jagan has been getting substantial financial aid from PM Modi and the Union Government and despite corruption cases, CBI and ED is going slow on him. If Jagan decides to vote against UCC, then CBI and ED would be unleashed against him and if he supports the bill then, Muslims the strong vote bank of YSRCP will go against them.
