On Monday, addressing the Parliament, Narendra Modi said that the Congress didn't ensure that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2013 was fair. He remarked that the BJP had created three new States (Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand) in 2000 smoothly.
The Prime Minister's statements on the floor of the Parliament didn't go down well with KT Rama Rao. The TRS Minister accused the PM of hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana. "To suggest that Telangana did not celebrate its statehood is not only factually incorrect but also comes across as ignorant and arrogant. In his attempts to criticize the Congress party, Prime Minister Modi has been repeatedly hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana," KTR added.
Later, BJP leader Bandi Sanjay tried to put the record straight. He tweeted that the PM had actually uttered these words: "Attempts were made to stifle the rights of Telangana. Today, Telangana would have reached new heights, if it was rebuilt with the same excitement and vigour."
The BJP hit back at KTR by accusing the TRS leader of deliberately twisting the PM's words. "With scams getting exposed day in and out, people will no longer believe in your lies as you stand exposed. Evidence of that is the mandate given to BJP in Dubbaka, Huzurabad, GHMC and Teachers MLC elections," the Karimnagar MP tweeted.
