Telangana Congress was in a reasonably good position before the election campaign began in the 2018 elections. They were in a comfortable position to at least give a neck to neck fight for BRS. But TDP came in at this instance and formed an alliance with Congress. And the end result is that Congress came down crashing and was left in a humiliating position.
This time around, the Congress party appears to have learnt its lesson and they have acted wisely by moving away from the TDP image in the lead up to the next general elections in the state.
Earlier today, Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy was asked to comment on the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and he replied "We are not seeing it as anything more than what it is. It is just an arrest, nothing more."
Well, Revanth is usually a stoic supporter of TDP and Chandrababu Naidu. But the fact that he didn't say anything in support of CBN even after his arrest tells a story or two that Telangana Congress leadership has passed strict orders for leaders to distance themselves from the TDP image.
