A few months ago, Telangana-based TRS was rebranded as BRS with KCR aspiring to go on the national politics front. He wanted BRS to have a say in the national politics and vowed to be active in other states politics as well.
Cut to now, BRS rebel MLA, Mynampally Hanumantha Rao has implied that the party cadre and leaders weren't in approval of the decision to change the name of the party from TRS to BRS.
The party leadership has ignored the voices and opinions of the grassroots workers and leaders and has taken unilateral decisions without any consultation or consensus. The name change of the party from TRS to BRS against the wishes of the rank and file of the party is a glaring example of this. The unfruitful attempts to expand into neighboring states have taken away the focus of the party from the development of Telangana, Mynamapally wrote in his open letter to KCR.
About his resignation to the party, Mynampally wrote, the disconnect between the party and the people and its own cadre is even more evident in the choice of several candidates who are facing severe backlash from their constituents and even the party cadre. On a personal level, I have serious differences with some of the senior leaders of the party who have been spreading false and malicious propaganda against me in the media and social media.
This pretty much implies that not everyone in TRS was in approval of the change of the party's name to BRS and it was very much a unilateral decision.
