Marking their first visit to his roots as a married couple, the day was a blend of spiritual tradition, community celebration, and impactful philanthropy.
The villagers of Thummanpeta welcomed the couple with a grand celebration, reflecting the deep pride the community takes in Vijay’s journey from their small village to global stardom.

Vijay and Rashmika began their new chapter by honoring familial and local traditions.

The Ritual: The couple performed a traditional Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham at their newly constructed farmhouse in the village.
-
The Vibe: Dressed in elegant traditional attire—Vijay in a pastel green kurta and Rashmika in a dark blue silk saree—the couple sought blessings for a prosperous life together.
-
Community Feast: Following the ceremony, the Deverakonda family hosted a massive community feast (Vindu Bhojanam) for over 2,000 residents and fans who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds.
Empowering the Youth: Scholarship Announcement
Proving that success hasn't distanced him from his roots, Vijay used the occasion to announce a significant educational initiative through The Deverakonda Foundation.
-
The Initiative: Vijay announced dedicated scholarships for 9th and 10th-grade students across 44 government schools in the Achampet division.
-
The Vision: "I am incredibly happy to celebrate our wedding festivities here in my hometown," Vijay shared. "I want to contribute to the development of this village and the surrounding region. This scholarship program is just the first step in a series of initiatives planned to support local students and infrastructure."
A Stronger Connection to Roots
Vijay expressed his intent to visit Thummanpeta more frequently, noting that the farmhouse and ancestral lands are a vital part of his family's identity. His parents, Govardhan Rao and Madhavi, along with his brother Anand Deverakonda, joined the couple in the festivities, making it a true family homecoming.
The couple is now set to return to Hyderabad for their official wedding reception on March 4, which is expected to be attended by the biggest names in the film and political fraternities.
