Warangal's Deepthi Jeevanji smashes Para 400m world record

Deepthi Jeevanji, hailing from Warangal, has etched her name in the annals of athletics history with an extraordinary performance at the World Para Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan.

Against all odds, the daughter of daily-wage labourers from Kalleda has broken the women's 400 meters T20 category world record, clocking an astounding 55.07 seconds. Despite stiff competition, Deepthi dominated the race, leading in the first 200 meters and securing victory with a final burst in the last 5 meters.

Deepthi's success is also being partly attributed to the support rendered by the Gopichand-Mytrah Foundation, an athletics talent search program run by coach Pullela Gopichand
