Chief of the Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal referred to the Delhi liquor scam as a hoax. He asserted that the remarks made by the Rouse Avenue Court during the hearing on the bail petitions of Gautam Malhotra and Rajesh Joshi are evidence that the ED, which described this as a significant scam, was unable to provide the special court with adequate justification.
Kejriwal criticised the ED for filing a charge sheet against the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming that the party spent approximately Rs. 100 crore in Goa and that all of this money came from the South Group as part of the liquor scam. However, the special court had noted that only Rs 19 lakh had been spent in Goa by the AAP, which was a testament to his party's integrity.
He unleashed his rage by alleging that ED agents are physically torturing numerous people during investigation and by sending them reminders to appear for the investigation as part of the inquiry into the liquor scam case. In a letter to the Chief Justice, he had indicated the same expense, he informed the media in Delhi on Monday. He noted that the ED had claimed that Rs 100 crore had been moved via the hawala method, but the ED had been unable to provide the court with even a single piece of supporting evidence.
The ED officials said they physically examined the homes and workplaces in addition to questioning numerous people in the Delhi liquor scandal but ultimately found no evidence.
Delhi Minister Aatishi asked that Prime Minister Modi and BJP leaders apologise in front of the public for their previous slanderous remarks and charges made against the Aam Aadmi Party.
