BJP CM pays for domestic flights amidst son's hospitalization

Recently, on April 30, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s son Anuj Patel suffered a brain stroke. He had to be shifted to the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on an emergency basis from Ahmedabad.

The news is that the Chief Minister has paid for domestic flights that he and his family members have used in the past two or three weeks. As per a report published by a prominent Gujarati daily, the BJP leader paid the fare on both actual and subsequent visits to see his son on domestic flights. Activist Shruti Chaturvedi, translating the Gujarati report, said, "The CM's family has not once used government aircraft since his tenure."

The BJP leader has been lauded by Netizens for standing as a tall example of integrity.

As for Anuj Patel's health, it is currently stable. Based on a CT scan report, a team of doctors at the hospital said that his vitals are also stable. After Anuj suffered a brain stroke, local neurosurgeons in Ahmedabad performed an emergency procedure. In the Mumbai hospital, another operative procedure was performed on May 1. The patient continues to remain in the ICU and is out of coma.
