The BJP has been strategically backing a few propaganda films in the North Indian belt. They've been extensively carrying the Hindutva narrative in the north Indian market and this has greatly helped films like Kerala Story, Kashmir Files, and others.
Now, Prabhas's Adipurush is very much in the radar for being a perfect Hindutva film based on the Hindu mythological epic of Ramayan. Right from the day of Adipurush's launch, there have been rumors that the film could be carried by the Hindutva batch in the North Indian belt.
However, there's a downside here. There have been several complaints about the presentation of Ramayan characters in Adipurush.
Had Adipurush been a near perfect retelling of Ramayan on the big screens, the Hindutva batch, primarily fueled by the BJP groups would've owned the film as their own and given it a push at the box office.
But now that Adipurush is being tipped to be a half baked attempt at the mythological epic of Ramayan, it has to be seen if the Hindutva batch will be owning the film in the North belt or not. A clear trend is expected to emerge after the second weekend.
