The arrest of YS Sharmila, who happens to be YS Jagan's sister, has become a hot topic in political circles and social media. Sharmila had supported Jagan during his imprisonment and even continued his padayatra. Her husband, Anil Kumar, had also backed Jagan's political victory. Sharmila had faced restrictions from Telangana police and was arrested after an argument and altercation with them.
Despite this, Jagan and the YSRCP have not made any statements in support of Sharmila. While it is understandable that Sharmila made a mistake by pushing a police officer, Jagan should at least offer moral support as a family member. In contrast, leaders of other parties have expressed support for Sharmila.
But Jagan might have taken a stand that he should talk nothing about the politics in other states, irrespective of the presence of his family member there.
