Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said, at an event in Delhi, that the Congress party is probably winning Telangana right now. Elections to the Telangana Assembly are due to be held later this year.
The Wayanad MP added that his party is certainly winning Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which too will go to polls this year. "We are very close in Rajasthan and we think we will be able to win that State too," he added.
Ground reports say that the Congress party will find it extremely difficult to defeat the BRS in Telangana. At best, the party can finish at No. 2. That is, only if the BJP cedes ground to the BRS as part of its larger electoral strategy.
As for MP, it will not be easy for the Grand Old Party to unseat BJP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The saffron party has strong leadership in Chauhan and Jyotiraditya Scindia.
