#JusticeForPravalika: Mother opens up about 'cause' of suicide

A government job aspirant named Marri Pravalika from Warangal was found dead in a girls' hostel in Hyderabad's Ashok Nagar on October 14. After her suicide came to light, the police claimed that she died by suicide because her boyfriend had ditched her. Government job aspirants in the area of her stay, on the other hand, have been contending that Pravalika killed herself because the Telangana Public Service Commission has failed to conduct Group exams without issues for years. Since her death, the Raj Bhavan has sought a report from the Chief Secretary, the DGP, and the TSPSC.

On Tuesday, a video clip in which a woman identified as Pravalika's mother has emerged. In the video, we see the middle-aged woman get emotional. "I and my husband work as laborers. Since we have been through a lot of struggle, we wanted to give our children a comfortable life. That's why we encouraged them to study in the city. My daughter and my son have been in the city for two years. Pravalika was tortured by a youngster. She felt that it was better to end her life than live with the agony. She couldn't take his torture anymore. The guy needs to be punished swiftly so that no other girl suffers at his hands," the woman is heard saying.

The mother of Pravalika further says that the guy who allegedly harassed her needs to be hanged to death. She urges that political parties should not drag her or force her to issue any statement.
