Former Women Commission Chairman VasiReddy Padma and former Corporator Kesineni Swetha led the march in Vijayawada where over 2000 women participated. In Sathyavedu, the protest was led by Tirupati District Mahila President Borra Madhvi Reddy. In Tanuku, MLA Karumuri Nageswar Rao led the protest, and in Tuni, Mehar Ansari, AC Mahila President led the rally with over 1400 women marching along.
Slamming the opposition for stooping to a new low, Vasireddy Padma stated, ‘Chandrababu Naidu stalled the volunteer system. Babu complained and stopped door-to-door pension distribution. Babu then complained and stopped release of money for 6 schemes to the tune of Rs 14,000 crore including Cheyutha, Asara, and farmer input subsidy. When CM Jagan fought in the court and got the permission for disbursal of payments, Chandrababu again complained to the Election Commission and stopped the release of funds. He didn’t stop there. He had the audacity to file a new petition in the court against the release of these schemes indirectly through the Navataram Party.’
